On behalf of Martin's International, (IRAWMA, IFOL, CMA, JSVFEST) and the reggae and world music fraternity, we express our deepest and sincerest condolences to Chyril Stewart, Adam Stewart, and the rest of the Stewart family and friends on the passing of the Hon. Gordon "Butch" Stewart, a Caribbean giant.

The most respected Butch Stewart was and even in death will remain a pillar of Jamaica, the Caribbean, and the world. His contributions to society go beyond anyone's imagination and he will be sorely missed.

In the 1980s, our infant days of Martin's International events,
especially the IRAWMA (International Reggae and World Music Awards) with his Air Jamaica Airlines and his hotels, he was always on board as a sponsorship partner in support of the advancement of reggae and the Jamaican Culture.

Jamaica will not and cannot be the same without the friendly and

down-to-earth Gordon "Butch" Stewart, founder of the Sandals Resorts International, Beaches Resorts, the ATL Group, and other entities. Our prayers will be with the family as you go through this period of grief.  Rest in Peace (RIP) Gordon "Butch" Stewart, a Caribbean giant.
